Counselling and support

Infertility Counselling

Counselling is a confidential relationship where the assisted conception unit counsellor meets with individuals and couples to discuss personal, psychological or social effects of their treatment. The counsellor is impartial and wishes only to offer you the psychological support you deserve. The service is provided by the Reproductive Medicine Unit.

Support Services

Some couples would like help to cope with this very stressful time in their lives. There are several ways that we try to help with this.

Support Group

We have a patient support group call L.A.P.P. (Leeds Assisted Conception, Patient to Patient). This is run by couples, like yourselves, who have or have had infertility problems and who feel that they are ready to help others cope with treatment.

The support group has a network of telephone numbers of people who have undergone treatment already and who will be happy to answer your questions, give a listening ear, and support you through your next few weeks.
