Embryo donation

A number of couples that have had successful IVF or ICSI treatment decide to donate their spare embryos to help other infertile couples. The couples are counselled very carefully and screened in a similar manner to both egg and sperm donors. A woman receiving the embryos, known as an embryo recipient, is treated in exactly the same way as a woman undergoing a frozen embryo transfer. The chance of success with embryo donation is similar to that of those patients undergoing frozen embryo transfer.
